Luxor from Cairo by Sleeper Train
About this tour
The old way to reach Upper Egypt, and still the best one. You board a first-class sleeper at Giza station in the evening, have dinner on board, and wake up in Luxor with the whole day ahead of you and no flight to catch.
Luxor is where the pharaohs were buried rather than entombed in pyramids. You cross to the West Bank for the Valley of the Kings, the terraced temple of Queen Hatshepsut cut into the cliff, and the Colossi of Memnon standing alone in a field. On the East Bank, Karnak — the largest religious building ever constructed, added to by pharaoh after pharaoh for two thousand years.
That evening you board the sleeper again and wake up back in Cairo.
Includes meet and assist, entry fees to the sites listed, an English-speaking guide and all transfers by private air-conditioned vehicle.
